Helen D. Collins was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in the State for most of her life. She attended St. Monica & Xavier High School.
After finishing school Helen worked for and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in New Orleans. She came to San Antonio after she was forced to leave her home due to Hurricane Katrina. She was a very active member in Union Bethel A.M.E Church in New Orleans and she was admired and loved by everyone that she met.
Since moving to San Antonio, Helen became an active member of Emmanuel A.M.E Church here in San Antonio and continued to be an active member before falling ill. Family and church were very important to Helen and she always approached life with a smile.
She was the daughter of Wallace & Maria Dumas. She is survived by two sisters, Jacqueline Morgan of San Antonio, Texas, Marion Davis of New Orleans, Louisiana., and her daughter Brittany Collins of San Antonio, TX.
and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
